Kia Soul (SK3): Reverse Parking Distance Warning (PDW-R) system / Operation of Reverse Parking Distance Warning system
Operating condition
- This system will activate when the indicator on the Reverse Parking Distance Warning system OFF button is not illuminated. If you desire to deactivate Reverse Parking Distance Warning system, press the Reverse Parking Distance Warning system OFF button again. (The indicator on the button will illuminate.) To turn the system on, press the button again. (The indicator on the button will go off.)
- This system will activate when backing up with the ignition switch ON. If the vehicle is moving at a speed over 5 km/h (3 mph), the system may not be activated correctly.
- The sensing distance while Reverse Parking Distance Warning system is in operation is approximately 120 cm (47 in.).
- When more than two objects are sensed at the same time, the closest one will be recognized first.

The indicator may differ from the illustration as objects or sensors status.
If the indicator blinks, have the system checked by a professional workshop. Kia recommends to visit an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.

If the tire is worn evenly, a tread wear indicator (A) will appear as a solid band across the tread. This shows there is less than 1.6 mm (1/16 in.) of tread left on the tire. Replace the tire when this happens. Do not wait for the band to appear across the entire tread before replacing the tire.
