
The transmitter or smart key uses a 3 volt lithium battery which will normally last for several years. When replacement is necessary, use the following procedure.
1. Insert a slim tool into the slot and gently pry open the transmitter or smart key cover.
2. Replace the battery with a new battery (CR2032). When replacing the battery, make sure the battery position.
3. Install the battery in the reverse order of removal.
For transmitter or smart key replacement, Kia recommends to visit an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.

NOTICE The transmitter will not work if any of the following occurs: The ignition key is in the ignition switch. You exceed the operating distance limit (about 10 m [30 feet]).
With a smart key, you can lock or unlock a door and even start the engine without inserting the key. The functions of buttons on a smart key are similar to the folding key.
1. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, gently pry the lens cover from lamp housing. 2. Remove the bulb by pulling it straight out. 3. Install a new bulb in the socket. 4. Align the lens cover tabs with the lamp housing notches and snap the lens into place.
Vehicle identification number (VIN) The vehicle identification number (VIN) is the number used in registering your vehicle and in all legal matters pertaining to its ownership, etc. The VIN is also on a plate attached to the top of the dashboard.
